Restorative dentistry can repair damage that has been caused by the everyday wear and tear your smile undergoes each day, as well as damage caused from decay, injury or the natural aging process. Restorative dentistry covers everything from routine fillings to correct tooth decay, to treatments such as bridges and crowns that can replace missing teeth. Dr. Mark and his team will assess your needs and your smile goals to create a treatment plan that will provide you with a beautiful and properly functioning new smile.
Teeth can break for several reasons – decay, disease, injury, etc. A broken tooth can cause pain, as well as issues with talking or chewing properly. But you don’t have to live with a broken smile. Our restorative dentistry treatments can repair or replace your broken tooth. Dental crowns fit over the exposed portion of your tooth and are made to look just like a natural tooth.
It is important to have missing teeth replaced for several reasons. First, it can be difficult to chew or speak properly with missing teeth. But missing teeth can also contribute to a condition known as alveolar atrophy, or deterioration of the jawbone, and it can cause the remaining teeth to drift out of their locations. Dental implants fuse directly into the jawbone and help to simulate the natural chewing sensation that can prevent alveolar atrophy. Crowns or bridges can then be affixed to the dental implant to replace the lost tooth.
